Wicked Big Meet 2007

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Tim and I left Nashua NH around 6:00AM on Father’s Day to get the car to the Wicked Big Meet, the largest Subaru festival in America.

We quickly setup our service area and the Rally America banners (with the help of Team O’Neil and SRT).

WFNX Best Music Poll

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Just two days after returning from STPR 07 and the DRT is off again. This time to promote Rally America.
For those who don’t know the WFNX Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll takes over Lansdowne St. behind Fenway park and hosts a number of musicians as well as promotional booths. The DRT’s appearance was in support of Rally America, informing music-goers about rally, and promoting the New England Forest Rally (formerly known as the Maine Forest Rally).

Setup began early around 4pm, with the party starting around 6/7pm. There were dozens of other booths there promoting their products, but DRT definitely had the most unique booth. Surprising not many brought their very own rally car? WHHHOP!! Let’s just say turning on a rally car in between sets draws some great attention. The only other cars there were some ‘brand new’ 2008 German cars, and next to our 2002 Subaru WRX they had nothing, except maybe an extra cupholder?

One of the booths had a bunch of skateboarders cruising around the closed down Landsdowne St. The DRT media guru, Josh, got a number of great pictures with the DRT car in the background, way to go Josh! If you want to see the entire gallery it is available by navigating to the Photos link above.

Our travels began early Thursday morning from our home base in Nashua, NH. We arrived at our rustic, yet cozy Mansfield Inn, across from Mansfield University in the early evening, dazed, but ready to compete. Right from the get go the team was busy with final preparations for the weekend. Decals were still to be delivered and applied to the car, gasoline to be purchased, and dozens of odd end parts for video to be finalized, along with getting acclimated with the local roads. There was no doubts that the team would be prepared for the busy next couple of days… (more…)
